Pyramid College salutes India’s Martyrs with a Candle March
To commemorate the sacrifices of India’s National Heroes and Freedom Fighters, the students, faculty and staff of Pyramid College of Business & Technology, Phagwara took the initiative to reach the streets of Phagwara with candles and fire torches in their hands along with slogans and placards, signifying the importance of the contributions by freedom fighters and eminent leaders who fought for the Nation’s Independence and formation of this great constitution.
The students enlightened the public about the history behind celebration of Republic Day, emphasizing on the features of Indian Constitution. The students also requested the public to cast their votes for the good of the society and nation as a whole.
The march was initiated by Dr. Sanjay Bahl who held the fire torch and lit other torches held by faculty and students. He commented that we must all remember the sacrifices made by various National Heroes and some unsung heroes whose stories have not been witnessed by the masses.
Prof. Jatinder Singh Bedi, Chairman congratulated the efforts of the students and staff and shared that each individual should take up responsibility to contribute towards the nation and society and the sacrifices done by our freedom fighters, soldiers and national heroes should be respected by abiding to the constitution.
The candle march culminated at Buddha Statue in Hargobind Nagar, Phagwara where everybody kept the lit candles and prayed for the noble souls who gave life for this great Nation.
