Visit to Verka Milk Plant, Maqsudan (Jalandhar)
Continuing the industry- academia connect and practical exposure, Pyramid College of Business & Technology, Phagwara organised an industrial visit to Verka Milk Plant, Maqsudan. The students of semester-Hotel Management, semester III visited the plant one of the most prominent indigenous Dairy Producer to take first-hand experience on the working of Production of diary delicacy of Punjab related process of Hotel Industry. Verka caters to a large volume of consumers nationwide and much of the variants are manufactured in this plant.
The students, accompanied by their faculty members were taken on a guided tour of the Verka, Maqsudan. Students were informed about its history, products and layout of the company. Students came to know that apart from delicious food, luxury and decor, food industry had various segments in itself, many other units of food industry is working as small industry under the banner Verka - To make customer feel like home, services from Serving fresh ingredients straight from diary kitchen, customer delight, satisfaction and feedback are the backbone of industry, to understand the customer demand and quality to maintain the long term relation with customers. Students were exhilarated to see the assembly line where the team was working with specialised machines. They learnt important considerations and gained practical knowledge of making milk products.
The plant visit also included other vital aspects namely quality assurance and control measures, HR policies and currently used techniques.
Prof. Jatinder Singh Bedi, Chairman thanked the Verka management and congratulated the students for consistently visiting the industries for exposure and development.
Dr. Sanjay Bahl, Director added that at PCBT students are given opportunities on regular basis to explore the industry practices and they are made industry ready from such exposure.
