Road Safety Rally by students of PCBT
Pyramid College has always been at the forefront in delivering its duties towards the society and nation as a whole. Based on the same and looking at the increasing number of Road Accidents in India, Pyramid College of Business & Technology conducted a rally in its hometown, Phagwara. The main objectives of the rally were to promote cleanliness on the road, avoidance of drunk driving and wearing of helmets and seat belts while driving.
The rally was flagged-off by Dr. Sanjay Bahl, the Director of the college along with the faculty, staff and students who sensitized the locals of Phagwara to follow the traffic rules and regulations for safe and sane driving experience. They also reinforced the importance of safety gear especially wearing helmets among riders. The students also counseled the car drivers who were not wearing seat belts. The students held placards bearing important quotations and images of drunk driving, littering problems, using seat belts and wearing helmets.
Mr Mandeep Singh Gill, Superintendent of Police, Phagwara supported and appreciated the initiative and joined the students at the culmination of the rally. Prof. Jatinder Singh Bedi, Chairman Pyramid College of Business & Technology stated that the efforts of students and support of Phagwara traffic police has been really helpful as more people embrace personal mobility as the preferred means of transport therefore the adherence of road safety norms becomes a priority for all of us.
Dr. Sanjay Bahl, quoted that each one of us can pledge towards making India a country with lower road fatalities and adherence to traffic norms and this is the first step for the same from our side, we shall continue doing the same in times to come.
