Celebration of World Tourism Day
World Tourism Day has been celebrated since 1980 on September 27, the day in which the Statutes of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) entered into force. Peace and Dialogue, Energy, Accessibility, World Heritage and Water and Tourism have been some of the topics tackled on the 37 previous editions of World Tourism Day.
This year, Pyramid College of Business & Technology celebrated tourism day under the theme “cultural presentation”. The students of Hotel Management and Airlines, Travel Tourism celebrated this day with great pump and show. They exquisitely subdivided India into four categories namely North, South, East and West. Under each stall, the students showed their creativity skills in the name of designing the stall, museum, cultural protection and also displayed the diverse food of the particular region. The event was structured in two sessions, focussed on “Stall and Food display” and “Informative slide show on particular state”
On this particular event, Mrs Anita Som Parkash, NGO & wife of Mr Som Parkash- MLA, Phagwara marked her presence along with Ms Sachleen Kaur Bedi, Management, Pyramid College of Business & Technology. In addition to, teachers from different schools were also honoured in respect of their services towards nation.
Mrs Sachleen Kaur Bedi, expressed her gratitude towards the officials and shared that such events are extremely important and it should be on the regular basis.
